- TASKING, a developer of C/C++ compiler suites for
embedded processors, has integrated Accelerated Technology's Nucleus
PLUSTM Real-Time Operating System into TASKING's integrated
C166 EDE (Embedded Development Environment) development tool suite. TASKING's Embedded Development Environment (EDE) includes an optimized C/C++ compiler, a debugger (CrossView Pro), and the Nucleus PLUS RTOS. Within the EDE, the user has complete control over the RTOS's size and selected funtionality. The EDE's multiple project management system allows the user to develop several RTOS libraries, each with their own characteristics. In this way the user can quickly choose the RTOS configuration best suited to the application. CrossView Pro, the TASKING debugger, provides Nucleus PLUS aware debugging using TASKING's open Kernal Debug Interface standard. CorssView Pro allows the engineer to see and modify the behavior of intertask communication and synchronization mechanisms, such as mailboxes, semaphores & events. The user can also audit tasks and RTOS memory resources, as well as set task-aware breakpoints. Debugger features include file system simulation (file I/O performed on target is simulated on host), ROM debugging capabilities, full C166 on-chip breakpoint support, symbolic debugging, logging of debug sessions for later reference, and trace of code in C/C++ or assembly. Nucleus PLUS is available now for the Siemens' C166 architecture running on Windows 95, Windows NT, SUN Solaris, and HPUX. Prices start at $7,495. TASKING is a developer and supplier of integrated software development tools for the embedded systems market and supports a wide range of CISC, RISC, microcontroller, and DSP semiconductor technologies. Headquartered in Dedham Massachussetts, with an office in San Jose California, TASKING has offices worldwide, located in the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Japan, and U.K. |
