February 18th 2003 - Fujitsu Microelectronics has announced a new addition to its 32-bit MB91360 microcontroller family, the MB91F376G flash microcontroller with CAN.

The MB91F376G is an enhanced version of the existing MB91F366G series. It is exactly identical in functionality and resources to the MB91F366G, but offers a 50% reduction in typical power consumption and additional Flash memory.

Features of the Fujitsu MB91F376G include:
• 32-bit RISC MCU
• 32KB data RAM
• 756K Flash
• 4KB Instruction RAM
• DMA Controller
• two CAN Buses
• I2C bus
• two UARTs
• two Serial I/Os
• four Input Capture Units
• two Output Compare Units
• eight Programmable Pulse Generators
• four stepper motor controller-drivers
• eight analoge channels
• Real-Time-Clock
• two I/O Timers
• six Reload Timers
• eight external IRQs

The MB91F376G is targeted for automotive instrumentation applications, as well as embedded industrial applications requiring CAN.

The MB91F376G is fabricated in 0.35 micron technology and is built around Fujitsu's 5 stage pipelined "FR" RISC core, a Harvard architecture with 16 general purpose registers. RTOS software available for the FR core includes OSEK, EurosPlus and embOS. A starterkit is also available which includes the Softune Workbench software development environment.

The device is available in a 120-pin QFP package, with sample quantities of the device available now.
