Ashling and IAR have joined forces to offer a comprehensive development kit for engineers developing projects for the ARM microprocessor. This development kit provides engineers with an integrated solution that works straight out of the box.

The kit contains:

  • Ashling ARM evaluation board
  • Ashling ARM emulator with a USB interface to the host PC
  • IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM containing:
    • Integrated Development Environment
    • C/Embedded C++ compiler
    • Assembler, linker, and librarian
  • Users can choose between the Ashling Pathfinder Debugger and the IAR C-SPY Debugger

"Our customers represent a large part of the embedded industry.  Developers in the 32-bit segment demand more complete packages. With this new exciting combination of IAR tools and Ashling emulators we provide the ARM developers community with a proven, cost-effective and market leading package" said Stefan Fors, IAR's Marketing and Sales Manager.

"This new cooperation means that ARM developers can quickly utilize the combined Ashling and IAR toolset to reliably design, integrate, debug and validate their ARM-based products" commented John Murphy, Managing Director of Ashling Microsystems. "We're excited at the opportunity to work with IAR in delivering these innovative and powerful kits to the embedded systems community. By integrating our respective products, Ashling and IAR are providing a complete and cost-effective toolset."

"The complete development kits fill a market need for alternative solutions for developers using ARM cores which has been lacking until now" said Jan Beekman, Ashling's Director of Marketing. "The kits fit well with our strategy to be the one-stop shop for developers."
